The Market Place Expects You To Come Prepared
There
is a famous quote that has been said by two people I love and respect.
The
late, Zig Ziglar, King of Sales once
said “Success occurs when opportunity
meets preparation”.
Denzel Washington,
65 year old and multiple award winning American Actor, Director and Producer once said "Luck is when an opportunity comes
along and you are prepared for it”
They
both could not have said this any better.
This
entrepreneur I am about to endorse is the very definition of Prepared:
- Talking about proactivity?
- Talking about preparing today for tomorrow?
- Talking
about Over Preparing?
For
products made in Cameroon, EVA’s Beauty Products has one of the best I have
ever seen:
- Bottling
- Labeling
- Packaging
The Opportunity
I
was planning a product launch for a new client. The initial date for the event
was March 22, 2020, but due to the outbreak and seriousness of Covid19 and the
measures the government of Cameroon under the advice of the Ministry of Health
had taken to cancel all events and gatherings of more than 50 people, it really
wasn’t worth the while launching a product when you expected to get as many
people through the doors to get a good kick-start on sales only to limit your
event to less than 50 people. The event was postponed indefinitely.
After
about 11 weeks, the client re-scheduled a new date for the event and I went
ahead to book the venue to avoid any disappointments with hall unavailability
and anything of the sort. A week later, the client called to postpone the date
again. I had already made a firm booking for that date and got a very good
bargain from the venue, when I gave them the new date, they were unfortunately
booked on that date and recommended another date later. My client was ok with
this.
I
was however already geared to do an event on this date and I did not want to lose
the steam I had gathered after almost 3 months of not doing any events. I also thought
losing the money on this first date was stupid, so I called this entrepreneur
whose laboratory and warehouse I had visited and who I knew wished he could
reach a wider audience with his hair and body lotion. He had contracted one distributor
who was doing a fabulous job and getting raving reviews from pharmacists and
especially nursing mothers who used the oils for their babies. One distributor
was not enough to purchase his weekly volumes. He desired about 10 wholesalers.
He had already decided from the start of his business that he will sell to
wholesalers only and not retailers.
I
told him I had a very good venue for an event which he could pay half price for
and not too much for refreshments. I told him I thought it will be a good
opportunity to do a product launch there and take photos and videos for the
company social media accounts. I also suggested, anybody who got an invitation
to Akwa Palace will very likely attend the event.
For a number of reasons:
- The
location is perfect – Akwa – Very Central
- The
food is delicious – Everyone knows Akwa Palace cuisine is in a world of its own
- Perception is Everything – There is a general perception that Akwa Palace is pricy and hence only companies with flexible budgets book them for events.
He
said Yes, right away and told me we should chat in 3 days.
In
3 days, I visited him in his office and he had ordered the design and printing
of 100 invitations, ordered polo t-shirts for hostesses, ordered roll-up
banners, bought a flip chart for his office where I saw bullet points of his
plan for the next 4 weeks, he also mentioned he had called and met up with his
lab experts and co-founder to go over the details of their power point presentation
and the roles they were each going to play during the product launch.
All
these happened in a 3 day window, before I got a chance to tell him any more
details about the event, the venue or any costs he will incurr.
Scot
Anderson in his book “Think Like a
Billionaire, Become a Billionaire” said “Billionaires
know that life is about windows of opportunity.” Billionaires prepare today for the opportunities of tomorrow."
I
do not see any way, Eva’s Beauty Products will not succeed in the Cameroonian
market.
The
market place disciplines you and this entrepreneur is ready for the market.
About Us
Endorsed
Brand is a digital marketing
platform that promotes great brands. Our process starts off with a chat with
the Founder or CEO of a company. Once we determine that you need our marketing
services, we plan a visit to your premises to see and understand your
processes. This visit consists of interviews with you and your staff,
professional photos of your finished products and videos of your processes.
By
the time we met up for the first time with Eva’s Beauty Products, they had
professional photos of their finished products and were working on doing videos
of their processes.
Now That Is Business
